Empowering Youth Inspiring Bright Futures
Join us in our mission to make a lasting impact and empower our youth to overcome obstacles, unlock their potential, and contributing positively to our community. Together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive Chicago.
The Thicklin Foundation
Our Mission
The Thicklin Foundation is organized and committed to addressing the challenges our youth face head-on. Our goal is to bridge the gap between limited resources and accessibility in underserved communities. To achieve this, we focus on early intervention and empowerment. We provide vocational exposure and training in areas such as carpentry, architecture, HVAC, engineering, plumbing, electrical work, mechanics, barbering, beautician services, and entrepreneurship. By equipping our youth with practical skills, we aim to empower them to become self-sustaining individuals throughout their lives.
We also understand the importance of fostering creative expression and providing positive outlets. Through arts, we create platforms for our young people to channel their emotions constructively. By complementing these opportunities with education and mental health counseling, we strive to guide the next generation towards a brighter and more promising future.
We are offering vocational skill trades, mental health programs, and mentoring services, and we are always looking to future our reach in the community.
Programs and Community
Providing a safe space for young individuals to grow and thrive is necessary for mental peace. A reprieve from the pressure of society in a safe space with others looking to better themselves, encourages our youth to want and strive to do better.

Upcoming Projects
At The Thicklin Foundation, we are dedicated to promoting sustainable living and healthy eating in collaboration with local community gardens. In addition, we are excited about the opportunity to work with other non-profit organizations on a G.E.D. campaign. We recognize the value of education and understand that obtaining a G.E.D. can open doors to future opportunities for our youth. We are actively exploring partnerships with an alternative high school. We understand that not every student thrives in a traditional educational setting, and we are committed to ensuring that all youth have access to quality education that meets their unique needs. Through these initiatives, we are dedicated to empowering our youth with the necessary education, skills, and knowledge to lead successful and fulfilling lives.
Past Projects
Our approach at The Thicklin Foundation involves hands-on training for our youth in areas such as drywall and painting. We believe that these skills can provide a lifelong foundation, enabling them to earn a honest income and achieve financial independence. By equipping them with these practical skills, our aim is to instill a sense of pride and accomplishment in themselves, empowering them to make a positive difference within their own community. We are committed to helping our youth develop a strong work ethic and a sense of responsibility, allowing them to contribute meaningfully to society and create a brighter future for themselves and those around them.
